OUR STORY

Nora Lee was born out of the creation of the Allison Gala, an annual event Brandt started in memory of a dear family friend, Allison Ryan, who passed at the age of 28 after being diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer 22 months prior. In two years Brandt raised $40,000 for the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation of direct funds and over $200,000 of in-kind donations in service of the gala.

Shakespeare asked in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?" Rolling with this sentiment the FIRST name that fell off the tongue was "Nora Lee." Nora Lee was a grandmother who, like Brandt, was heavily involved in community advocacy and events. Having passed in 1980, she is only known through pictures, stories and in Louisiana...her legacy. Before her sudden passing she was on the White House grounds serving Jambalaya to President Jimmy Carter as she was the 1980 President of the Jambalaya Festival Association. An association who to this day hands out a "Nora Lee" award to someone who exemplifies the call of duty to one's community.
